We had lots of help loading & unloading the moving truck – another huge blessing. And – WOW – my apartment in the NTM building is Beautiful!!!
First Impressions of the Sunshine State:*It is HOT here. Yikes. I was expecting it to be a bit cooler, but apparently it doesn’t ever get that cold here. Despite the fact that it was 89 degrees this morning with 100% humidity, Floridians seem to be either unaware or unaffected by the heat. I was wearing shorts & a tank top, wishing it was appropriate to wear less when I walked passed a lady wearing jeans & a sweater…. Ummm… Just because it’s October does not mean the temperature drops around here!
* It seems like Christians “down South” are more open and bold about their beliefs. Everywhere I go I see people wearing what I call “Jesus shirts”. And on Saturday I was exploring Sanford (my new town)and as I was walking through a park I found a group having a little worship service. I sat down in the shade to listen to the Baptist preacher share the Gospel. They also provide a bus on Sundays to pick anybody up and bring them to church… specifically the homeless in the area. I was pretty excited to see such a practical outreach to the community.
I’m working on meeting people, finding a church and getting plugged in. I’m going to a Bible Study tonight, so I’m pretty excited to get to know some fellow NTMers. I start working with Doug & Kara on Monday. I’m looking forward to being a part of their team, and this ministry! More importantly, I'm stoked to be serving my King.

I like the pictures! Your apartment looks really nice. I know what you mean about the weather in Florida though... it can be pretty bad. You get used to it with time, I think (at least, I got used to AZ, and my grandma is so used to FL that she feels cold when she comes to visit us in AZ).
The quote at the end of your post is awesome too. It is so neat to read about everything you're doing and your passion for reaching the lost with the gospel of Christ is always super encouraging to me.
Hey Nicky, the place looks great. We have been to NTM in Stanford and it is a majestic old facility. I hope you enjoy your new digs. When you come up to Wisconsin we will have plenty of blankets and down coats to keep you warm. What is the latest on how everything is going? Have a great thanksgiving.
